Sizing – before you begin your vROps installation, you must first size the deployment to your environment. You don’t want to be undersized and you also want to accommodate for expected growth. For 6.0.1, use this sizing guideline spreadsheet.
Installation process –
Download the OVF from VMware & place on a system that your vCenter server can communicate with. Then deploy from template:
Accept EULA:
Choose the name and location of your appliance:
Here is where you select size based upon the spreadsheet that you filled out.
Thick Eager for best performance:
IP information of the appliance:
Confirm settings and GO!:
Now the appliance will spin up:
Once it’s up the console will give you the URL to hit with your web browser for the rest of the configuration. More on that in my next post!
